Save the Waves
Save The Waves Coalition is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of surf spots and the marine environment, with an emphasis on educating the world’s people and governments of the high social and economic value of a quality surfing wave. We are a dedicated group of surfers, scientists, and activists, and put every dollar we raise towards protecting the surf zone throughout the world from harmful coastal development.

Slide Magazine
Slide Magazine was started by Alan Ashworth in 2002 with its first issue going onto newstands in December of that year. However, before that lovely event occured there was a gruelling five month development cycle and much blood, and sweat and tears was spent getting to that point. Alan created Slide Magazine to bring a voice to the New Zealand and International longboarding movement; to generate excitement in a rewarding style of surfing and to reinvigorate it for the younger generation.

The Surfrider Foundation Chapters are the heart, soul and body of the Surfrider Foundation. The Surfrider Chapters act locally to protect their community's coast. Outside of Surfrider's 60+ chapters and over 50,000 members in the United States, the Surfrider Foundation has active branches in several other countries.

New Plymouth Surfriders Club
The New Plymouth Surfrider's Club was formed in 1991 by a group of sixty five New Plymouth surfers who managed to secure a vacant council owned building as their clubhouse. The club proudly overlooks Fitzroy Beach from its enviable foreshore position.
