The Draft Revision of New Zealand Coastal Policy statement recognises Surfbreaks! Updated 21_05_08With the help of Rob Makgill, Environmental Lawyer for Berry & Co, Surfbreak Protection have submitted this final Submission on the proposed New Zealand Coastal Policy Statement 2008.
If accepted this will be the first time Surfbreaks will have legal recognition and protection in New Zealand.. read more...
Taranaki Surfbreaks Receive Recognition!
Taranaki Regional Council is one step ahead of the NZCPS and in a bold and visionary initiative has already included provision for protection of ALL it surfbreaks in its Regional Coastal Policy Statement. Other Regional Councils are now in the process of drafting their own submissions to the New Zealand Coastal Policy Statement (submission deadline 7 May), so we recommend you email your Regional Councillors to let them know you wish them to support Policy 20.
