Paige Hareb, the 19-year-old surfer from Oakura, has put her support behind this year's 'Keep New Zealand Beautiful' campaign and become the face of the event in Taranaki."I got involved because I'm proud of my country and anyone should want to keep it clean," Hareb said yesterday.

"I've travelled the world a lot and seen some countries that are polluted, even in the water, and it's nice to come home to a country with nice clean beaches and water.

"I always try to keep Oakura clean because that's where I live."

Hareb herself will be out of the country when the campaign kicks off on 4th September. She'll be getting ready for the next event on the 2009 women's ASP Dream Tour in Sydney, it's an important one for Hareb.
